November/December 2017
New York, USA.
Flotar was pleased to present Mesa, the first group exhibition of paintings, prints and medium size sculptures by Leila Da Cruz, Davi Caramelo, Juci Reis, Vanessa Bittencourt, Mirella Ferreira, Thayane Matos, Felipe Rezende, Francisco Brasil, Mayara Ferreira, Jan Cathalá, Ísis de Carvalho, Arthur Campelo and Adson Gargax.
This exhibition consisted of a group of paintings, prints, photos and small sculptures that were put together as a counterpart for the group's art program in Mexico City in November, 2014. The apparent simplicity of these pieces opposes a greater sophistication in their metaphorical construction and design. The relationship between formal elements as individual pieces in this exhibition suggests that they are put together by an affinity with the surface in which they are exposed.
